SUKKUR: Floods rising from River Indus have inflicted massive devastation across Sindh province.
Floods have turned their directions towards Keerthar Canal in Jacobabad after water was seen flowing backwards due to destruction of gates located at Karang Regulator near Shahdadkot.
According to Executive Engineer Keerthar Canal, Munawwar Bazdar, as the floodwater is flowing backwards in canal, the Sukkur District has come closer to high floods.
Qabo Saeed Khan, Shahdadkot, Sujawal, Rato Dero and Miro Khan cities have been put on red alert given the flow of floodwater in Keerthar Canal, he said.
DCO Shahdadkot has ordered evacuation of 150 villages on emergency basis after the district was alerted against potential flooding.
